Your Memories of Children and Art

Kids with their paintings

You know how a child looks when they’re creating? The concentration. The thoughtfulness in their eyes. The focus. It’s wonderful to see. Children discovering the joys of creativity and self-expression.

When they get older, they won’t remember that time they stared at their phone but they will remember the feeling of putting brush to paint to pottery and striving to bring their inner vision to life.

As a parent, we can do nothing better for our children than allowing them these moments.

At Aran’s, we’ve seen children grow up before our eyes. Some of our best customers have been coming in from the time they were 3 or 4 years old and it humbles us every day.

We’ve all had that experience of looking at our children, and seeing them, just for a moment, as they used to be and realizing that just yesterday…they were so small…except it wasn’t just yesterday…and they look at us like we’re crazy. And maybe we are.

At times we just want to scream “HOLD ON FOR A SECOND!”…but it doesn’t work that way, does it?

“Freeze this moment a little bit longer. Make this sensation a little bit stronger.

Experience slips away.” – Rush, “Time Stand Still”

With all our technology we still can’t stop time, but we can do our best to hold moments as close to our heart and memory as possible.

Aran’s is a great place to do that.

You can bring your baby in to get their foot or handprints memorialized in clay. (They’ll never be that small again.)

You can bring in your 5-year-old to paint a cute puppy or kitty pottery piece. (The cuteness is powerful!)

Your 10-year-old can come to one of our Kid’s Night Out canvas painting events and paint a wonderful picture you can hang.

Your 14-year-old can bring their friends to their birthday party to make glass suncatchers that’ll reflect dazzling colors wherever the light shines.

And then one day you’ll be doing something you’ve done a thousand times, and it will strike you right in the heart:

Those moments in their lives you wanted to freeze and desperately squeeze to your chest so they don’t ever go away?

You’ll have mementos you can hold in your hand.

Let your children “discover their inner artist.” That’s what we’re all about.
